Ian Yip, M.D.

Dr. Yip graduated summa cum laude from Washington University, St Louis in 1986 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. In 1990, he received his Medical Doctor degree from Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Yip then completed his residency and fellowship training at the UCLA Medical Center and their affiliated hospitals. Dr. Yip is currently Associate Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Yip is board certified in Internal Medicine; Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in Clinical Nutrition by the American Board of Nutrition; and the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists.

Dr. Yip has written over 60 peer-reviewed journals articles, scientific abstracts and book chapters. Dr. Yip is recipient of over 25 research grants in the areas of nutrition, obesity and cancer prevention. He also serves as editorial reviewer for numerous scientific journals.

Dr. Yip is the Director of the Nutrition Medical Center with offices located at the 100 UCLA Medical Plaza in Westwood and at the Warner Medical Center in Woodland Hills.

Dr. Yip is married and a devoted father to his 15-year old twin daughters and
7-year old son. He is an active community educator to both children and adults, teaching on nutrition and staying healthy.

Dr. Yip's clinical clientele comes from throughout the world. He is highly regarded by his peers and patients alike.
